Earlier this month, she merged “Getaway Car” from Reputation, “August” from Folklore, and “The Other Side of the Door” from Fearless (Taylor’s Version).

“So ‘Getaway Car’ is from the perspective of the cheater, ‘August’ is from the perspective of the other woman, and ‘The Other Side of the Door’ is from the perspective of the woman who was cheated on,” one fan observed, while others quickly recalled past fan accusations suggesting Alwyn was behaving suspiciously with a co-star amidst his split from Swift.

Frankly, I believe my fellow Swifties might be stretching a bit here. Isn’t the whole point of a mashup to blend songs with similar themes? Although it’s plausible that Swift’s breakup with Alwyn was less than amicable, contrary to what sources initially told the press in April 2023, none of these tracks have ever been directly linked to the actor.

Of course, the timing of “Should’ve Said No” x “You’re Not Sorry” was likely to stoke the flames, but there’s another plausible explanation: Swift couldn’t resist a playful nod. “You know we love your accents, but I have a very specific word that is my favorite,” Swift shared with the Australian crowd before the performance, as captured in fan-recorded videos. “And that word is the word ‘no’ It is the most glorious sound.”
